As part of the winter training activities carried out by the "Taurinense" alpine brigade, some structures of the 3rd alpine regiment of Pinerolo and the 9th alpine regiment of L'Aquila, together with the staff and specialist structures of the 1st AVES "Antares" regiment of Viterbo, conducted an intense training activity aimed at developing suitable operational synergies aimed at verifying the procedures necessary for the helicopter transport of tracked vehicles BV 206 S7 with CH-47F medium transport helicopters.
The activity, characterized by elements of both logistical and technical complexity, made it possible to test the procedures necessary for the integration of the transport capabilities of the CH-47F helicopter with those characterizing the BV 206 S7 bimodular armored vehicle supplied to the units of the Alpine Troops.
The means all terrain BV 206, which will soon be used during the "White Fox 2020", technical-tactical exercise which, among other things, has the aim of increasing the movement capacity of the Alpine units in a compartmentalised snow environment, they are not only tactical means for the transport of personnel, but also actual combat vehicles, which become a fire base capable of providing support to light troops once on foot.
