The Secretary General of Defense / DNA visits CEPOLISPE

The Secretary General of Defense and National Director of Armaments, General of the Army Corps Luciano Portolano, went yesterday to the Army Multifunctional Experimentation Center (CEPOLISPE) of Montelibretti.

General Portolano, accompanied by the director of land armaments, Lieutenant General Paolo Giovannini, and by the director of the V department - technological innovation, Dr. Luisa Riccardi, was welcomed by the logistic commander of the Army, Major General Maurizio Riccò, and by the director of the CEPOLISPE, Colonel Rocco Gioia.

After a brief welcome, the Secretary General of Defense participated in an illustrative briefing during which the main capabilities of CEPOLISPE in the field of experimentation and tests aimed at the approval of weapons means and systems were exposed.

Subsequently, General Portolano visited the facilities dedicated to the activities of testing, including the semi-anechoic chamber and the laboratories specialized in various scientific-technological sectors and was able to view, during a static exhibition, the main terrestrial platforms currently being tested such as the Lightweight Multirole Tactical Vehicle (VTLM) 2, the Blindo Centaur 2, Medium armored vehicle "Arrow" Command Post and the vehicle Flyer. The activity then continued with a test drive of the VTLM 2 on the macadam track.

During the visit, the general of the army corps Portolano expressed "His full appreciation of CEPOLISPE for the remarkable results achieved in the numerous activities carried out". To his recognition, was added the keen satisfaction of the Army logistic commander, who expressed full satisfaction for the work carried out by the military and civilian personnel of CEPOLISPE, who with competence and commitment confirms an irreplaceable technical support for the benefit of the entire Defense sector.

Il Multifunctional Experimentation Center is an entity dependent on the Army logistical command, responsible for testing and technical evaluation for the purposes of suitability for use of all means, materials, weapon systems, components and equipment of interest to the Army. The Center is equipped with special laboratories and infrastructures, including numerous test tracks that allow tests and experiments to be carried out in all conditions, both on and off-road.
