The Libyan defense minister visits the Italians in training in Italy

This morning the Libyan defense minister, Abdallah Abdulrahman Al-Theni, accompanied by the Italian chief of defense Admiral Luigi Binelli Mantelli and the chief of staff of the General army Claudio Graziano, went to Cassino to visit the over 300 Libyan students who are carrying out the first training phase in Italy.

Minister Al-Theni, in Italy to take part in the International Conference on Libya in progress at the Farnesina, met the young Libyan military personnel who have been training since last January under the guidance of instructors of the 80 ° CASSINO Volunteer Training Regiment for improve their training on the infantry platoon level, taking an interest in the ongoing training activities.

The initiative is part of the bilateral agreements with Libya, born under the G8 Compact, which provide for the formation of Libyan military 2000 in Italy and the training of local police personnel by the Carabinieri, Navy instructors and Air.

In this context, in Tripoli, instructors of the Arma dei Carabinieri are carrying out some training courses on police operational procedures for the border police and the special anti-crime group.
