The general Francavilla new commander of the AVES

Yesterday morning, in the barracks “Ten. MO Dante. Chelotti ", the Commander of the Terrestrial Operative Forces, the General of Army Corps Roberto Bernardini, presided over the ceremony with which Brigadier General Luigi Francavilla took over, as from 24 January, the position of Commander of the Army Aviation (AVES) to replace Army Corps General Giangiacomo Calligaris who died following a flight accident last January 23.

The sober ceremony was attended by the Commanders of Corps directly dependent on the Commander of the AVES and, connected by videoconference, all the Commanders of the Intermediate Commands headed by the Commander of the Land Operational Forces, as well as all the Commands of units and departments of the AVES. During his career, General Luigi Francavilla commanded the “Friuli” Aircraft Brigade in Bologna, the Army Aviation Training Center and since December 2010 the Army Aviation Brigade in Viterbo.
