The Chief of Staff of the Army at the AVES departments of Viterbo

The chief of staff of the Army, general of the army corps Pietro Serino, went today to the command and departments of theArmy aviation (AVES) stationed in Viterbo.

Welcomed by the commander of the Army Aviation, Major General Andrea Di Stasio, and by an honor guard at the Training Center, the chief of SME saluted the War Banner and entertained himself in one office call with the commanders of the departments.

During briefing informative, the commander of the AVES illustrated the organization, tasks and future prospects of the Army flight specialty. At the end of the meeting, General Serino met the blue Basques. In his greeting address, the highest office of the Army addressed words of satisfaction and gratitude for the commitment of the AVES. "You do a very complex job that requires attention and specialization" - said the head of SME - “I have in front of me some great professionals who do their job with passion, commitment and dedication”.

In the afternoon, the visit continued to the “SERE” section (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape ”), a center of excellence for the entire Armed Force in terms of survival courses. In this context, the head of SME attended a tactical act, scheduled in the current phase of the "SERE" course, verifying the capabilities of the flight crews of the 3rd special operations helicopter regiment (REOS) "Aldebaran" and the 1st "Antares" regiment, as part of the specific activities of insertion / extraction and recovery of isolated personnel with fast rope and "cluster".

After the static display of the aircraft, General Serino was accompanied to the Museum Hall of the Army Aviation, inaugurated last year on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Specialty in synergy with theAVES National Association (ANAE). The visit ended with the signing of the Roll of Honor.
