A year after his inauguration and after having already visited most of the Army departments, the Army Chief of Staff, Corps General Salvatore Farina, yesterday visited the bodies present in Civitavecchia. The senior officer began his institutional visit to the 11th transmission regiment, a support unit for the maneuver of the Army transmission command, where General Farina held the position of commander of the "Leonessa" battalion from 1 September 1995 as of September 5, 1996.

Received by the regimental commander, Colonel Pasquale Guarino and by the non-commissioned officer of Corpo, 1 ° lieutenant Paolo Farisei, the chief of staff, attended the flag-raising ceremony with all the staff of the unit and addressing them pointed out as the transmitters they must be proud of being the heirs and the actors of the beautiful reality of the weapon of transmissions that 100 years ago marked with heroic deeds the beginning of its journey.

The 11 ° regiment must be equally aware that, thanks to the continuous commitment and the sense of duty, it will succeed in contributing to the defense, security and good of Italy while maintaining faith in the oath given.

General Farina continued the visit by going to the Simulation and Validation Center of the Army (Ce.Si.Va.) where, together with the commander, division general Roberto D'Alessandro, he took part in a briefing during which the main current and future activities of the Center were illustrated.

On this occasion it was highlighted as the Simulation Center and Validation of the Army represents, in the Armed Forces, the main reference for the application of training simulation and "virtual training", as well as for the experimentation of integrated systems for land training (SIAT) and those for the digitization of the battlefield in the context of the broader Defense program called "Forza NEC" (Network Enabled Capability).

At the end of the briefing, the SME chief took the opportunity to extend his greetings and appreciation to all the military and civilian staff for the work done and for the excellent results obtained, underlining how the challenge linked to the increasingly rapid evolution of the technological tools, allowed Ce.Si.Va. to become a pole of excellence.

General Farina's visit ended in the afternoon at the 7th Defense Regiment (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) "Cremona", commanded by Colonel Fabrizio Benigni, where he had the opportunity to appreciate in detail the many commitments and excellent skills of this specialized Army Unit, which contributes to the “safe soldier” through its peculiarities, both in out-of-area operations, both on the national territory and in support of the Civil Defense organization in case of CBRN events.

The SME chief then met and greeted all the staff of the department, expressing their full satisfaction with the professionalism and competence demonstrated in the intense and constant daily activities.
