The 1st basic mountaineering course in favor of the 2nd regiment of the alpine brigade has ended Taurinense, which started on June 13th. The activity planned, organized and conducted by the regiment stationed in Cuneo allowed the soldiers to strengthen their abilities to operate in mountainous terrain.

The training took place in climbing gyms in the province of Cuneo, under the supervision of highly specialized military instructors with proven mountaineering experience, and developed in a theoretical - practical path aimed at making students assimilate the knowledge of materials mountaineering, climbing techniques and abseiling, conducting via ferrata and climbing with self-locking.

In addition, the 1st advanced mountaineering course is also nearing completion, aimed at deepening the techniques of self-rescue, management and conduct of personnel in the mountains, the movement as a leader and setting up an itinerary on various terrain.

Both activities are part of the training of the Alpine Army Troops, aimed at acquiring the ability to move, live and fight in the mountains, and in particular to acquire the dominion of verticality and the ability to overcome obstacles on rock and alone. walls.
