The 152nd "Sassari" trains the newly assigned

The 5th amalgam stage was completed, in which the newly assigned VFP1s to the 152th “Sassari” infantry regiment took part. The activity was aimed at adapting the training level of the military to the standards held by the operational departments, a premise of assignment to them, promoting the spirit of body and cohesion. Among the aims of the activity, the selection of the best to become part of the scout platoon, a highly specialized operative pawn of the regiment. The internship took place, in full compliance with the anti-COVID regulations, in the “Gonzaga” Barracks, headquarters of the 152nd regiment, and in the nearby training areas.

The conduct of the three-week program was based on the constant alternation of theoretical and practical lessons, which allowed the students to carry out and put into practice the concepts and procedures learned. The intent was to improve their skills in the use of the weapons supplied, also using simulation systems, and to increase their skills in day and night navigation techniques. In addition, they were provided with first aid knowledge and information on the Chemical, Bacteriological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threat. Particular attention was paid to the development of the ability to operate during the night, that is, in situations of poor visibility.

The internship culminated with a continuous training activity lasting four days, during which the military had the opportunity to put into practice the teachings acquired with the theoretical lessons. During the demanding exercise they traveled, with the equipment and equipment supplied, an itinerary identified between the municipalities of Thiesi, Bessude and Banari (in the province of Sassari), about eighty kilometers long and characterized by strong compartmentalisation and significant difference in height.
