The infantrymen of the 152 ° infantry regiment of the “Sassari” brigade, in recent days at the Sassari headquarters and at the “Campo Mela” training area, conducted an opposing party exercise called “Devil's Claws”.

The activity allowed to increase the planning skills of the commanders at the lower levels by improving their skills leadership and at the same time to train Army squads and platoons to operate in a synergistic and coordinated manner in a broad spectrum context (full-spectrum), identifying the lessons learned (best practice) during the operational simulation (wargaming) and implementing them in the conduct phase .

The exercise comes at the end of a period of progressive training and training conducted through the development in succession of the planning modules of a tactical activity at the platoon order level, followed by the conduct of the operational simulation through the use of the simulation system Virtual Battlespace 3 (VBS3) and, in the executive phase, of the simulation system Live I-Miles.

In this scenario, the soldiers of the 152nd regiment carried out a series of tactical activities including systematic attack, consolidation and defense of positions.

The activity just completed, conducted in full compliance with the measures to prevent and combat the spread of Covid-19, represents a first step in a path that will see in the near future the massive use of simulation systems, even at higher orders, to enhance leadership, diversify training scenarios and protect the environment.
