The solidarity initiative which saw i ended Yellow Devils of the 185th "Folgore" paratrooper artillery regiment, from 24 April last, carry out a massive donation of plasma and platelets at the "Agostino Gemelli" University Hospital in Rome, in close cooperation with the Blood Donor Group "Francesco Olgiati" onlus.

Over 100 plasma bags and as many platelets donated, in less than a month, in favor of cancer patients hospitalized and treated at the aforementioned hospital.

There were 110 men and women with Amaranth Basque who spontaneously underwent the apheresis process, continuing within the already excavated groove of the Army in general and in particular by the "Folgore" Paratroopers Brigade, in terms of supporting the citizenship, with massive blood donations.

The paratrooper artillerymen, with this contribution, in fact wanted to show the tangible sign of the spirit of solidarity and generosity that distinguishes them, showing their closeness to the most needy citizens especially in the particular historical moment through which the country passes.

The now traditional commitment in the social fabric fits well in the consolidated and extensive initiatives, such as the donation of basic necessities to the population most affected by the emergency situation taking place in the country.

Words of great satisfaction were spoken by Professor Gina Zini, head of the Hematology department of the Gemelli Polyclinic, and by Doctor Giovanni Bonetti, president of the “Francesco Olgiati” group, also satisfied with the spirit of emulation aroused, following the media coverage found by the initiative.
