The commander of the regiment, Colonel Massimiliano Carella, in the presence of the flag of war of the unit and to deployed departments recalled the path they have made, of the lagooners, the only infantry department with amphibious capacity of the Italian army and paid homage to all the fallen of the regiment.
With the agenda of the army, the army chief of staff, general of army corps Claudio Graziano, formulated to all the Lagoons the most fervent greetings and the personal affectionate acknowledgment affirming “Today the Lagoons, strong of firm spirit of sacrifice and fervent self-denial, they represent a fundamental operational pawn for the achievement of the exceptional results achieved by the armed force, constituting a valid institutional point of reference for enthusiasm and efficiency ”.
Brigadier General Vasco Angelotti, commander of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade, of which the lagoons, heirs of the glorious "fanti da mar", were also maneuver units took part in the military ceremony.
A premise of the ceremony, the military ordinary for Italy, his excellency Monsignor Santo Marcianò celebrated a religious function, during which some lagoons received the holy sacrament of confirmation.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the Association of Lagoon Troops Amphibias set up the "E. Matter ”, a static and photographic exhibition of means and materials supplied to the lagoons of yesterday and today.
