Combined Arms Paratrooper Knights in Training

The “BOA-2” exercise took place in recent days at the Monte Romano (VT) shooting range, involving the “Savoia Cavalleria” regiment (3rd) and a component of the 185th paratrooper artillery regiment, in a series of training events developed within the framework of a Joint Forcible Entry Operation (JFEO). The training cycle is part of the activities planned for the acquisition and maintenance of the technical-tactical procedures for the use of typical paratrooper cavalry, in particular in the creation and expansion of the air landing head with the deployment of a Tactical Command Post (TACP) tactical group.

In addition to the offensive and enabling tactical activities of the paratrooper cavalry reconnaissance detachment, the simultaneous presence of units combat service support It allowed us to test the logistical functions of maintenance, supply, movement and transport and the health support with the help of a doctor from the Florence infirmary included in the “Savoia Cavalleria” team.

Exercise “BOA-2” is part of the series of training activities carried out by the Italian Army's “Folgore” paratrooper brigade, characterised by maximum realism and aimed at ensuring the availability of physically prepared and highly motivated units, to be promptly deployable in all current operational scenarios.
