Army bomb squad neutralize a war device in Bardonecchia

The Army bomb squad effective at the 32nd engineer regiment sappers of the Alpine brigade Taurinense they intervened at the request of the prefecture of Turin, following the discovery of a chemically loaded artillery shell dating back to the Second World War.

The CMD (Conventional Munition Disposal) operators, highly specialized in the neutralization of war devices, worked jointly with those of the CETLI NBC (Interforce Logistics Technical Center - Nuclear Biological Chemistry) who, after careful investigations, confirmed the presence of a chemical compound at the liquid state inside the device. Operators of the 32nd later neutralized the device and its contents.

The reclamation operations were carried out in total safety and with particular attention to environmental protection. All the instrumental checks carried out at the end of the activity, in fact, made it possible to exclude any type of residual environmental contamination.
