After more than fifteen days of intense training in the Abruzzo Apennines, the “Roman Star 2024” exercise has concluded, which saw the Alpine troops of the 9th regiment of the “Taurinense” Alpine brigade employed together with the 4thth battalion of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment of the British Army.

The exercise, carried out in Monticchio, Campo Felice and inside the “Pasquali” barracks using the shooting range in the tunnel, the climbing tower and the skillhouse, saw a first part focused on the acquisition and exchange of procedures for the use of Alpine light infantry and a second phase aimed at increasing interoperability between NATO troops.

The “Roman Star” concluded with a continuous four-day test during which day and night observation posts were set up, as well as a tactical march conducted in a mountain environment and aimed at consolidating the ability to live, move, fight and assist soldiers wounded in combat in a compartmentalized environment.

The exercise was enhanced by the visit of Colonel Andrew Wareing, Deputy Commander of the 19th Brigade of the British Army, accompanied by the Commander of the 9th Alpine Regiment, Colonel Mario Bozzi, who thanked the soldiers for the enthusiasm shown during the two intense weeks of training and the brotherhood towards their Italian colleagues.
