Oath of the XXIII "Honor" course

It took place this morning, at the Officers' School of the Army, the ceremony of oath of loyalty to the Italian Republic of the XXIII course "Honor".

The pupil marshals of the first battalion confirmed their choice to serve the homeland in arms, shouting in unison "I swear" and singing the anthem of Italy in front of the flag of the institute, decorated with a bronze medal for the value of Army and Silver Medal for Civil Merit.

The solemnity of the event was underlined by the presence of the commander for the Training, Specialization and Doctrine of the Army, general of the army corps Salvatore Camporeale, of the commander of the NCO school, Brigadier General Stefano Scanu and of the civil and military authorities intervened. Among these: the bishop of Viterbo SER Lino Fumagalli, the deputy mayor Dr. Enrico Maria Contardo, the vicar prefect dott. Salvatore Grillo, the magnificent rector of the University of Tuscia prof. Stefano Ubertini and the commissioner of the Province of Viterbo dott. Giancarlo Sant'Elia.

The Chief of Staff of the Army, General of the Army Corps Pietro Serino, expressed his closeness to the jurands, through a message of good wishes, underlining how "The oath is the act by which you will consecrate your life to the service of the community" and then adding "The leadership of men and women will require you to pour out all your energy but will be able to give you great professional and personal gratifications."

The MOVM sergeant Andrea Adorno read a message of good wishes to the jurands from the Group of Gold Medals for Military Valor of Italy.

General Scanu addressed the jurands underlining the importance of the choice to put themselves at the service of the country, as women and men in arms, “Always be aware of the value and importance of your role, today as students, tomorrow as commanders. Feel the responsibility of this noble choice, claim it with pride, confirm every day the values ​​that prompted you to make it, because these will be the values ​​that will support you in difficult moments, among the many rich in satisfactions ".

"Love of country, fidelity to institutions, discipline, loyalty, sense of duty and - last but not least - honor values ​​that, in today's ceremony, you have sworn to embrace and that must always guide you in the continuation of what is not a simple profession but rather, an authentic choice of life " with these words the general of the army corps Salvatore Camporeale addressed the future platoon commanders.

Thanks to the support provided by the General Staff and the Broadcasting Command, the event was broadcast live streaming, to allow the families of the students to share a fundamental moment in the life of every soldier, despite the restrictions imposed by the measures to combat the pandemic.
