In the past few days, 527 volunteers on a fixed-term contract of one year, belonging to the 1st bracket of the 1st block 2021 and those attending the initial training course, have sworn an oath of allegiance to the Italian Republic at the regiments training volunteers of Capua, Cassino and Ascoli Piceno.
In the presence of the War Flags of the respective regiments and in the presence of the commander of the Infantry School, Brigadier General Eugenio Dessì, military, civil and religious authorities, as well as representatives of the Combat and Weapon Associations, the volunteers shouted "Lo I swear!" and sang the hymn of Mameli.
The commander of the Infantry School, Brigadier General Eugenio Dessì, during his speeches, underlined how: “Today, your new status binds you to the highest values of military ethics: dignity, respect, discipline, a sense of duty. Be worthy witnesses to it and besides being loyal and conscientious soldiers, act as irreproachable servants of the state as well as exemplary citizens ”.
As part of the ceremonies, broadcast live streaming on the official channels of the Armed Force, the exploits of the corporal Renato Zanardo, decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor, ideal mentor of the 1st Block 2021, were also remembered.
The ceremonies saw, albeit in limited numbers, the participation of family members, who came from all over Italy to share with their relatives one of the most significant moments in the life of a soldier.
At the end of the 6-week course, the volunteers will go to feed the departments of the Armed Force located throughout the national territory.
