(To Army Majority State)

The refresher course for military rescuers at the new health training center of excellence in Macomer, in the province of Nuoro, ended in recent days. The course, ten days of intense daytime and nighttime training in favor of twenty soldiers from numerous departments of the Italian Army, took place in the "Bechi Luserna" barracks, headquarters of the 5th sapper engineers regiment of the "Sassari" brigade.

Despite the ongoing health emergency, the Army, in compliance with anti-Covid measures, has not interrupted the necessary and indispensable training activities for the preparation of its personnel and units designated for operational use in Italy and abroad. The course, in fact, took place in large and ventilated spaces which allowed to reach the training objectives in total safety.

The crisis areas in which the Armed Force continues to operate often present morphological and structural characteristics that make first aid times long and difficult. It is in this context that the military rescuer fits, a figure particularly indicated in operating theaters abroad where the health system is not always immediately available when an emergency occurs. The course, directed by Major Ivan Corridori, medical officer of the 5 th Engineer Regiment Guastatori, aimed to refine the preparation of the participants on the procedures to be adopted for a rapid and coordinated medical evacuation, in order to make effective first aid in hostile environment and in particular stressful conditions.
