A few days ago, in the training area of the "Montezemolo" Barracks in Castel Maggiore (BO), the exercise of the genius brigade called "ARGO 2020" conducted by the employee railway engineer regiment.
With this exercise, carried out in full compliance with the anti-COVID 19 provisions in force, training activities were carried out which made it possible to test newly acquired materials and equipment as well as strengthen consolidated operating procedures.
In particular, the men and women of the railway genius trained in the management of a freight yard, in the restoration and strengthening of a railway line used to guarantee supplies to units deployed in the operational area, in the management of the circulation of convoys on the line. railway, in the restoration of a section of rolling stock and in the defusing of a bomb by a nucleus Conventional Ammunition Disposal (CMD).
The activity, aimed at maintaining the operational capabilities of the regiment in a context of general support for mobility and deployment, made it possible to verify the degree of preparation achieved in the conduct of complex operations and, at the same time, to train personnel for cooperation between the military unit and other civilian operators assigned to the management of emergency situations.
