The exercise for snipers concluded at the Carpegna (PU) shooting range Live Exercise (Livex) organized and conducted by the 187th paratrooper regiment "Folgore", aimed at increasing and consolidating the long-range shooting skills of the specialist components.
The exercise, carried out in a particularly complex and compartmentalized environmental context and characterized by high training realism, saw the snipers of the 187th regiment as protagonists with the corresponding nuclei of the 186th paratrooper regiment "Folgore", of the 183rd paratrooper regiment Nembo", of the "Savoia Cavalleria" regiment (3rd), of the 8th paratrooper regiment "Folgore", of the 3rd Alpine regiment, of the 66th airmobile infantry regiment "Trieste" of the airmobile brigade "FRIULI" and of the Lagunari regiment "Serenissima" of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" brigade.
The Army's snipers, highly trained in long-range shooting techniques, tested their skills with different types of weapons against progressively more distant and complex targets, in day and night environments, demonstrating at all times mental readiness, clarity and the ability to operate in high-intensity contexts.
Each phase of the exercise offered the opportunity for a direct comparison between the various nuclei involved, encouraging a mutual enrichment of the respective technical-tactical procedures and the sharing of innovative tools and best practices. The interaction between the different units, each with its own specializations, allowed to optimize the use of resources and improve the overall operational capabilities, proving crucial for the positive outcome of this important exercise.
