Exercise "HERMOD 20"

In recent days, the "HERMOD 20" exercise was conducted in the "Scalise" Barracks, headquarters of the Horse Artillery Regiment.

The objective of the activity was to train the regimental personnel to operate within the command posts deployed in high-intensity operating environments and to develop the planning decision-making process (PdP) aimed at issuing orders to support the brigade's maneuver. of cavalry "Pozzuolo del Friuli".

During the exercise, the regimental command post was used as a priority, which trained in the preparation of the Fire Attachment and related annexes to theOrder of Operation (OPORD) of the brigade, or in the coordination of the management of indirect fire delivered by the FH / 70 weapon systems operating in competition with the brigade.

Through computer simulation, a complex scenario adhering to modern operational contexts was reproduced, centered on a war-like crisis situation, with opposing parties.

In this scenario, the horse artillery regiment was engaged in the conduct of "Autonomous Amphibious Actions", in the transition from the mobile defense activity to the offensive one of counterattack and exploitation of success, as part of a combat campaign whose maneuver it was reported, step by step, on topographic map.

The exercise was also planned with a view to involving various staff members of the units included in the Capability Basket of National Projection Screening Capacity (CNPM), in order to maintain the professional and integration standards required by the Armed Force, in scenarios peacekeeping, peace-enforcement e war.
