The focus exercise is part of the "Montebello" amalgamation field, of imminent use in Kosovo as Multinational Battle Group West, as the culmination of the training that saw all the personnel operate in a cycle of theoretical activities and exercises - practices at various order levels.
In particular, the exploring Squadron operated in a low intensity scenario, framing a horse patrol in its ranks. In this context, the achievement of the Full Operational Capability (FOC) of the mounted cavalry units was in fact verified, after the Initial was already acquired on 27 March, in the training area of the Montelibretti Military Riding Center. Operational Capability (IOC), in a disaster relief operation for the civilian population.
The exercise saw the binomials used in exploration tasks, surveillance of their own area of operation and acquisition of objectives, highlighting high mobility, silence and logistical autonomy, perfectly inserted in the context of the minor complex, constituting an effective component. The achievement of the FOC on the part of the assembled assets of Montebello it marks a fundamental passage, almost “historical”, for their possible future use both in training and operational contexts, both at home and abroad.
