In 180 (of which 20 women), 26 was admitted to the training period started last August, at the end of which a further selection will take place and in 151 will be admitted to the first year of the 196 ° course official students of the army.
At the end of the two-year period, with the rank of second lieutenant, the students will continue their studies in Modena or at the Turin army application school, where they will obtain a master's degree in various fields of study, including strategic sciences, engineering and medicine.
For the army non-commissioned officers' school, young 216, against the 16.816 competitors in the public competition for marshals, were admitted to the 17 two-year course (2014 - 2016) at the Viterbo non-commissioned school. For them, the training began today. At the end of the three-year training course the students will achieve the rank of marshal and the first level degree in "Organizational and management sciences" at the University of Tuscia and in "Nursing" at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome. This course will consist of 21 women, the largest number since female personnel are allowed access to the armed forces. From the 2000, since the Italian armed forces opened competitions for women, the requests for participation stood at around 16% for both training institutions. The number of applications received this year both in terms of the competition for the military academy and for the non-commissioned officers school is constantly increasing. The main geographical origin of the students is the center-south and especially from Puglia and Campania.
