After 24 years, Army Equestrianism returns to the Olympics

The Italian Equestrian Sports Federation has made official the squad that will represent Italy in the discipline of the all-around equestrian competition at the next Olympic Games in Paris 2024. There will be two athletes from the Army Sports Center to take part in the highest international sporting competition: the chief sergeant major Emiliano Portale and the graduate Giovanni Ugolotti.

The two athletes in force at Military Riding Center they will ride the horses Scuderia 1918 Future and Swirly Temptress respectively, with which they have built an Olympic qualification path that has seen them protagonists in the most important Nations Cups and also finalists last year in the European Championship.

In expressing his satisfaction for the prestigious objective achieved, the commander of the Military Riding Center and coordinator of the Army's equestrian activity, Colonel Marco Del Nevo, stated that: “Returning to the equestrian Olympics after 24 years and doing it with 2 starting pairs is the result of great team work between the center's technical managers, the sponsors, the vets, the farriers and all the professionals who work hard every day care of our horses. This objective is to be considered only the beginning of a series of participations in the highest intercontinental competitions".
