Extraordinary donation of the "Sassari" brigade to Caritas

Over 2.300 basic necessities, equal to about a ton and a half of food and drinks to be destined for people and families in need of Sassari who are in situations of particular economic difficulties due to the coronavirus emergency.

It is the result of the special food collection that the families of the military of the 152nd infantry regiment of Tactical Support Command Department and the command of the "Sassari" brigade they donated to the diocesan Caritas of the Turritan capital last week. The foodstuffs, packaged in compliance with the hygienic-sanitary requirements both for loading and for transportation on board the Army vehicles, were delivered by the "Sassarini" to the managers of the Caritas Diocesan Service Center in Largo Seminar who will distribute them preparing the service several times a week to meet even those who do not usually turn to parishes.

"COVID-19 has put numerous sectors in crisis. Hence the spontaneous initiative of the collection of long-term food to face the situations of need and discomfort in which many families in our city find themselves", said the 152nd regiment commander, Colonel Giuseppe Rocco. "Solidarity and altruism are values ​​that are part of the DNA of the Army, of an Army that is among people and for people. In this particular and dramatic situation that sees once again exposed the most fragile people, the our families and us soldiers feel the duty not to leave anyone behind ", concluded Rocco.
