At the training area of Salmour (CN), the 2nd Alpine regiment of the Italian Army, in full compliance with the rules relating to the containment of the epidemiological emergency from COVID - 19, carried out a continuous assessment of the Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) of units at squad / platoon level in offensive / defensive and enabling tactical actions.
The Alpini of the "Doi" faced threats coming from conventional and unconventional forces in different scenarios.
The exercise, carried out in the buildings in the training area, was made even more realistic thanks to the use of blank shots and the "marking ammunition" system, whose nose cones contain coloring substances which, when used together with a conversion of the original bolt and to individual protections, allow to carry out activities with opposing parties, increasing their operational shooting capabilities, in the context of immediate automatic reactions.
In this context, the new systems and equipment supplied to the Army under the program were also used Individual Combat Systems (SIC) for the use of which, recently, the 2nd Alpine Regiment has conducted various familiarization and experimentation activities.
The periodic conduct of this type of training allows the Alpine troops of the Army to achieve and maintain all training objectives, with particular reference to the procedures aimed at ensuring the physical safety of personnel, materials and equipment, the clarity of issuing of orders at each order level and increasing the ability to use communication and observation / orientation systems.
