The commitment of the "Friuli" aircraft brigade continues unabated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, in fact, the "Friuli" departments have continued to resort to their own particular structures and staff in order to be able to distribute the health and protection material necessary to combat the virus that can for months it has put a strain on the whole country.

In particular, yesterday, at the request of the Department of Civil Protection, 1 UH-90 helicopter of the 7th AVES "Vega" regiment, took off from Rimini for the Rome Fiumicino airport where it loaded 1 ton of personal protective equipment (DPI) transporting them, in a single sortie, to the Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna. Once arrived in the city of Bologna, the material, together with another 2 tons of PPE that arrived on the same day with an Air Force C-27J, was taken over by the command department and tactical supports "Friuli" of the aircraft brigade and subsequently delivered to a collection center of the Civil Protection of Reggio Emilia.

The activity, conducted jointly by the flight crew of the "Vega" and by the staff of the RCST "Friuli", is part of the competitions that the aircraft brigade has provided since the beginning of the Covid-19 emergency to the population of Emilia Romagna and not only. In particular, by using its assets, "Friuli" is contributing significantly to the distribution of materials acquired and stored throughout the national territory by the Civil Protection to guarantee continuous support to the population.

The brigade's commitment, in contrast to the epidemic, also embraces other fronts. For some weeks, health personnel from the "Friuli" have in fact been serving in some Emilia-Romagna RSA and also, with the remodeling of the Safe Roads services, about 300 men and women have been operating, in competition with the Police Forces, so that the population adheres to the provisions of the government decree on #iorestoacasa in the cities of Rome and Florence.

The Army, from the first moment on the front line in the action to combat Coronavirus, is proving more and more every day an institution close to the citizen and useful to the country in various forms, contributing in a often decisive way to the fight against the pandemic.
