Course for updating anti Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device systems on ASTRA vehicles

As part of the modernization and strengthening of the defense capabilities of the Italian Army vehicles against the RC-IED (Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device) threat, the 33rd Electronic War Regiment of Treviso concluded a few days ago refresher and training course for the testing of jammer inhibitor systems.

The activity was carried out in favor of the personnel destined to perform specific duties in the context of the installer of anti-RC-IED systems.

The course, organized by the Army staff, with the support of the specialized personnel of the companies TEKNE srl and IVECO, was divided into theoretical and practical lessons with final evaluation tests on the assembly and disassembly of the adaptation kit of the electronic device "jammer ".

The latter is a device capable of generating radio frequency (RF) signals that inhibit the reception of the activation signal of the infamous RC-IED, i.e. those improvised explosive devices controlled remotely and used by insurgent groups in different areas of the world. , including those in which contingents of the Italian Army operate.

The continuous training of the personnel allows the constant adaptation to the evolution of the different forms of threat that the military forces employed on the ground may encounter in operation.
