Specialization course for VFP4 of the Cavalry

At the Cavalry School, the specialization course for the Volunteers in Fixed Five-Year Stand (VFP4) for the assignment of the "busway explorer" assignment in the light and heavy configuration e crew tanker.

The theoretical-practical training course, which lasted about three months, ended with the shooting exercise with armed bus platforms. Centaur and tank Ram and, for the "Busway Explorers" in the light configuration, with a "continuous" night exercise, aimed at testing the procedures of the Scouting Team in the various scenarios, with particular reference to thetactical land exploration (ETT).

During the final shooting exercises, i crew tankers and busway explorers they have shown that they have acquired the technical-operational skills of fire procedures and that they know how to act in the conditions of decision-making autonomy, a quality that is indispensable in the presence of highly sophisticated means and equipment. The best crews classified in the fire exercise competed in the so-called "plus" shooting competition, divided into several modules with increasing difficulty: from the stowage of ammunition to precision driving, from crossing a minefield to overcoming a curtain smoke bomb and activities in focus.

The volunteers with the task of "busway explorers" in the light configuration carried out the "scouting patrol in area reconnaissance" putting into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired during the classroom lessons and creating a bivouac, POAs and observation post, aimed at the collection of information data. The exercise, which continued throughout the night with repeated activations, ended with the abandonment of the bivouac, the subsequent exfiltration and reorganization at the rendezvous points.

The activities highlighted the significant training level achieved by the VFP4, mastery of the procedures and ability to manage critical issues in the use of combat platforms.
