27/06/14

Yesterday, at the Center for Advanced Medical Simulation in Nuoro (SIMANNU), 1 was the first advanced medical simulation course for the medical staff of the "Sassari" brigade.

The course took place thanks to the availability of the scientific manager of the Simannu center, dr. Luigi Arru, in close collaboration with the Nuorese Free University Institution Association (AILUN), chaired by the lawyer. Lorenzo Palermo, and with the coordination of the scientific / didactic manager of the course, dr. Corrado Casula, doctor of the 118 of the ASL of Oristano, in favor of the "Sassarini".

The aim of the course was to update and acquire the most modern theoretical-practical skills on lifesaving techniques, aimed at stabilizing and evacuating patients involved in high-risk military operations scenarios.

Therefore, the comparison and integration of the health protocols of 118, at the forefront of emergency relief, with the guidelines of Tactical Combact Casualty Care, aimed at pre-hospital treatment on the battlefield, has optimized the life-saving procedures in a crisis environment.

The course was attended by 6 teams belonging to all the units of the "Sassari" brigade, each composed of a medical officer, a non-commissioned nurse and a health aide, with very realistic simulations and adhering to the operational needs of military personnel, supported by professionalism and the experience of both 118 personnel and specialists in the fields of traumatology, ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedics, surgery and resuscitation.

The activity confirms the will and responsibility of the army in creating the contexts of synergy with other organizations to verify and always keep adequate the preparation of its staff to future commitments.
