Concluded the amphibious courses for the lagoon

In recent days, at the “E. Matter ”took place the simple conclusion ceremony of the 78th Army amphibious qualification course and the 14th amphibious explorer course.

The Army amphibious qualification course allows you to learn the technical tactical procedures of infantry in an amphibious, lagoon and riverine environment with the use of materials and equipment provided.

In particular, this course was geared towards staff training Combat Support inserted in Capability Basket of the National Sea Projection Capacity (CNPM) coming from the 3rd sappers regiment of Udine and from the 17th “Sforzesca” anti-aircraft artillery regiment of Sabaudia.

The amphibious explorer course, on the other hand, is a specialization course for lagoon explorers and is divided into two phases lasting ten weeks, the first which includes activities mainly oriented to survival, evasion and escape in a hostile environment and the second consisting of specialized modules.

The new amphibious explorers will be part of the RECON platoon and must also achieve the qualification of Military paratrooper at Parachute Training Center of the Army and the qualification of Diver Demoman Obstacles (SDO) at the Underwater Command of the Italian Navy (COMSUBIN).

Both courses were carried out in full compliance with the provisions on the containment and contrast of the epidemiological emergency from COVID-19.

During the closing ceremony, the regimental commander, Colonel Claudio Guaschino, congratulated all the students by welcoming the new lagoons on board and congratulating the new amphibious explorers.

The “Serenissima” lagoon regiment is a maneuvering unit of the “Pozzuolo del Friuli” cavalry brigade, which supplies some assets of the Italian Army within the National Sea Projection Capacity.
