At the training area of Monteromano (VT) the fire activities that saw the paratroop knights of the “Savoia Cavalleria” regiment (3rd) involved in a series of training events included in the “Pegaso 21” exercise concluded.

As part of the integrated deployment plan (PII) of the Army commands and units (for the three-year period 2020 - 2023), the heavy armored squadron of the "Savoia Cavalleria" will be made available to the high and very high operational readiness, called JRRF (Joint Rapid Reaction Forces). In this context, an intense training period was carried out, aimed at conducting the tactical activities of the heavy armored platoons, as well as carrying out logistical activities in a hostile environment.

Assets from the Tactical Information Brigade (a RAVEN nucleus of the 41st “CORDENONS” regiment and a Mobile interception station (PIM) of the 33rd EW Regiment), which allowed the chain of command to be practiced in an environment multi-domain. The training opportunity made it possible, among other things, to amalgamate the knowledge, preparation and skills of the squads of the paratroop knights and of the 187th “FOLGORE” parachute regiment, in a nocturnal environment.

During the activity, the commander of the "Vittorio Veneto" division, division general Angelo Michele Ristuccia, visited the units undergoing training at Monteromano, having the opportunity to attend the branching of orders and, subsequently, to carry out the firing exercise of the platoons heavy vehicles engaged in the execution of the "braking".

The JRRF assets fall into different levels of incremental readiness, identified as a point of mediation between the needs of NATO and the European Union, however always subject to change according to the geo-strategic framework and the directives of the top authorities of the Atlantic Alliance .
