Dynamic Front 21 multinational exercise concluded

The multinational exercise ended in the last few days at the training area of ​​Grafenwoehr, in Germany Dynamic Front 21, planned and conducted from 3 to 21 May from 7th Army Training Command (7th ATC) of the US Army, stationed at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center of Hohenfels, which was attended by the 132nd land artillery regiment of the “Ariete” brigade.

The activity, which involved about 1800 soldiers from 15 allied and partner nations, was aimed at verifying and testing the fire support capabilities of the countries adhering to the ASCA protocol (Artillery System Cooperation Activity), through planning and conduct of real fire interventions, the coordination, research and acquisition of objectives, as well as the control and evaluation of the effects of fire in order to achieve the ability to support, in a joint and integrated manner, the units combat, in a context warfighting at high intensity.

In the exercise, the 132nd "Ariete" land artillery regiment deployed a battery command post with 7 PZH 2000 howitzers, a counterfire system Arthur, Joint Fire Support Element (JFSE) with two teams, as well as a logistic support nucleus, to which the assets of the 10th sappers engineer regiment and the “Ariete” logistic regiment contributed.

The development of the Dynamic Front 21 it has also made it possible to verify and optimize the compliance of the procedures relating to the organization and operation of battery logistic supports, integrated in a multinational device, in particular in carrying out refueling and maintenance activities of an engaged artillery unit in operations. 

The activity proved highly profitable for the staff of theRam who was able to carry out specialized technical training, making the most of the potential of computerized systems in an international context of high depth.

All the exercise phases were carried out in full compliance with the prevention and protection measures imposed at European level by the current epidemiological emergency.
