In recent days, the 52nd "Turin" land artillery regiment based in Salerno conducted the exercise called "Attack on Demand" at the military complex of Persano and in nearby locations. Flaming Sunrise 25.
The activity, in which the commander of the Army Artillery, Brigadier General Gianluca Figus, took part as an observer, was planned in order to achieve the training objectives necessary for the Full Operational Capability (FOC) of the 2nd howitzer battery and, more generally, of the regiment.
During the operation, the command post of the 1st artillery group and a howitzer battery were used, in addition to the Joint Fire Support Team, deployed on the mountain and hill reliefs of the Sele river plain. The activity represented an important training opportunity for the specialized personnel of the Regiment in the dual field of coordination and operational procedures for fire, with particular reference to the use of the PZH2000 self-propelled gun. The military personnel also conducted topographic marching and mountain marching activities culminating in reaching the summit of Monte Panormo, at about 1700 meters above sea level.
Gen.B. Figus, considering the importance of the training event, expressed his appreciation for the constant commitment shown by all the regiment's personnel.
