As part of the training activities of the "Folgore" parachute brigade, aimed at implementing and improving integration and interoperability with the 173rd infantry brigade combat team - airborne (IBCT-A), stationed in Vicenza, the “Dagger Guard” exercise was held in recent days in the training area of ​​Dandolo (PN). A paratrooper platoon of the permanent training company of the 186th "Folgore" parachute regiment, in particular, was framed in a complex of the 54th BEB of the 173 IBCT (A), with the task of carrying out a Joint Forcible Entry Operation (JFEO) on the FRIDA launch area in Maniago.

Aimed at training infiltration skills through air launch, as an essential skill to meet the requirement of timeliness of use, speed of projection and depth of penetration, the exercise was primarily aimed at maintaining the peculiar potential of the air troops and conducting activities. training arranged by the command North Operating Forces, aimed at making the dependent units achieve and maintain the maximum operational capacity to be readily usable in high-intensity operating environments and develop the levels of interoperability and integration of the assets combat e combat support with similar structures of the main countries of the Atlantic Alliance and of the Partner Countries (so-called “Airborne Community”).

The exercise conducted in a training area other than those normally used, made it possible to provide the activity with maximum realism and to increase and maintain the operational readiness levels of the smaller units, verifying and implementing the technical-tactical procedures and use of the “Folgore” brigade.

Due to its characteristics of dynamism, flexibility and operational readiness, the "Folgore" paratrooper brigade is among the tools available to the Army to ensure the immediate response capacity of the Defense to cope with crisis situations and needs in a timely manner. which require the use of forces even in places that are difficult to reach.
