In recent days, the “Capricorno 2/25” exercise concluded at the permanent shooting range of Capo Teulada, which involved the “Garibaldi” Bersaglieri Brigade, with the combat components of the 1st Bersaglieri Regiment, the 4th Tank Regiment, the “Guide” Light Cavalry Regiment (19th), the 21st Engineer Regiment and the “Garibaldi” Logistics Regiment and with the support of specialist assets of the 121st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment “Ravenna” and the 7th CBRN Defense Regiment “Cremona”.
The multi-weapon “battle group” had the opportunity to consolidate the technical-tactical procedures to be followed in a high-intensity scenario and train the command and control function through the command posts deployed on the ground.
In addition, two Electronic Warfare teams from the 33rd EW Regiment, using the electromagnetic spectrum, helped increase force protection, while specialized personnel from the integrated terrestrial analysis department (RAIT) of the tactical information brigade (BIT) has increased the level of interoperability between units.
An important contribution to the success of the exercise was provided by the division Acqui, which ensured the activation of the command post in reach back, ready to take over if necessary. Furthermore, the staff of the tactical training center (CAT) of the 1st Armored Regiment, through the use of advanced simulation systems, integrated by the “Imperio” system, provided a faithful reproduction of the operational dynamics and a detailed analysis of the tactics adopted, with immediate feedback to improve the reactivity and adaptability of all deployed components.
The exercise created solidity in the integration and interoperability between the different operational and support components, addressing different types of scenarios.
