A training period which saw the units of the "Garibaldi" Bersaglieri brigade engaged with the support of the logistic regiment ended in recent days.
The objective of the exercise was to perfect the training of personnel in relation to the planning and conduct of operations with the use of multi-weapon complexes, integrating and exercising all the different components of the brigade, from tanks Ram, at blinds Centaur, to anti-tank and mortar systems, with the support also of the aircraft component and drones.
The training activity culminated with the "Hardened steel" exercise led by the 4th tank regiment, which was engaged in the conduct of an encounter combat as part of an offensive maneuver, with which the preparation was concluded of the units of the Bersaglieri brigade Garibaldi integrated into NATO's high readiness forces.
Brigadier General Mario Ciorra, commander of the brigade, explained to a delegation from the command South Operating Forces the general outlines of the training activities carried out, with particular reference to the operational capabilities that can be expressed and the methods of conducting a multi-weapon manoeuvre, underlining the results achieved by the units in the difficult preparation process, highlighting the standards of preparation and the logistical effort sustained which, together to the esprit de corps and the strong motivation of the personnel, constitute the distinctive feature of a large elementary unit to operate effectively in modern operational scenarios.
