The "Scorpion Legacy 2024" exercise concluded in recent days at the Cincu military range in Romania, in which a squadron of the "Cavalleggeri Guide" regiment (19th) took part with the support of an exploration platoon of the “Montebello Lancers” regiment (8th).

This exercise represents an annual commitment, planned as part of the Military Training Education Program (MTEP) of NATO with the aim of improving the standardization of procedures and the level of interoperability between the countries of the Alliance.

The exercise, which began in the last ten days of May with the deployment of a command post, saw Italian personnel operating jointly, in close synergy with structures from Romania, France, Bulgaria, Canada, Poland, the Republic of North Macedonia, Portugal and the USA. The activities, carried out with the contribution of Polish instructors, were mainly oriented towards combat training in urbanized areas and inside trenches.

The training activity then continued with a series of itinerant training stations (LIVEX), with opposing party activities with a typical scenario of a high intensity operation which enhanced the capabilities of the heavy armor crews in maintaining the pace of the action both in open field and on compartmentalized terrain.

The exercise concluded in the presence of Brigadier General Mario Ciorra, commander of the "Garibaldi" Bersaglieri Brigade and Colonel Nicola Iovino, commander of the "Guide".
