Concluded the "Grifo 2022"

The "Grifo 2022" exercise, carried out at the training area of ​​Betera, in Spain, in order to test the interoperability of the specialized CBRN units (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) of NATO in the activities Sibcra (Sampling and Identification of Biological Chemical and Radiological Agents) reconnaissance and sampling in which a set-up of the 7th CBRN “Cremona” defense regiment participated.

In particular, the exercise took place at the regimen de defensa NBQ “Valencia” n ° 1 (RNBQ 1) with the participation of a specialized German CBRN structure as well as the Italian and Spanish ones, for a total of about 100 NATO soldiers employed.

In this context, the 7th CBRN has deployed a structure specialized in reconnaissance and sampling, a technical advisor in support of the validation activities of the procedures used by the NATO assets and a liaison officer. The activity was carried out in two phases: the first, dedicated to the planning and interoperability of the procedures of the Sibcra teams, in order to be able to operate jointly; the second, aimed at reconnaissance and sampling activities in various "sensitive sites". Thanks to "Grifo 2022" it was possible to implement interoperability with other armies and test the performance of the materials and tools used.

The training event, included in the context of international collaborations in the CBRN sector, allowed to continue the fruitful exchange of knowledge in the specific branch between the structures of the specialized units, allowing to consolidate the professional skills of the personnel exercised in operational scenarios adhering to the possible modern threats.
