The "Carrier Strike 2021" exercise, which began on April 9th in the training area of the Cellina Meduna (PN) polygon, during which personnel of the 33rd regiment electronic warfare of Treviso, supported by electronic warfare operational support department of tactical information brigade of Anzio, has verified, successfully tested and reached the capacity of Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) with a variety of disturbing systems supplied to the department.

In particular, in the first training phase, electronic attack activities were carried out aimed at inhibiting the use, by a hypothetical hostile force, of the GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite navigation service.

In the second, however, the use of the disturbance for defensive purposes was experimented, as is the case in current crisis scenarios. On both occasions, it was possible to define the creation of an "electronic" polygon within which to carry out training activities in the field of the electromagnetic spectrum.

The training experiences acquired with this exercise and with the experimental activities, have allowed us to define models within which to carry out the training activities in total safety that can also be used in the training of other units of the Italian Army.

The exercise was conducted in full compliance with the measures to prevent and combat the CoViD-19 pandemic emergency.
