The 4th Carri Regiment, a unit employed by the "Garibaldi" Bersaglieri Brigade, celebrated the 79th anniversary of the Battle of Tobruk at the Capone barracks.

The anniversary coincides with the regimental corps party, following which the unit was awarded the Gold Medal for Military Valor for the heroic deeds of its tanks.

The ceremony was preceded by the deposition of a laurel wreath at the "war memorial" by the 40th regimental commander, Colonel Carmine Vinci and continued with the deployment of the departments, the rendering of honors to the Combat Banner, the reading of the facts of Arms and the motivation of the Gold Medal for Military Valor.

During his allocution, Colonel Vinci retraced the historical and human events of the regiment, recalling the final moments of the Tobruk fighting and remembering the commitment, sacrifice and dedication that the tankers devote daily in all training and operational activities, both both in Italy and abroad, underlining the values that have always distinguished the members of the specialty. The recent operational and training activities carried out in Italy and abroad by the regiment, such as the operational employment in Djibouti and Latvia, the NASR '19 exercise in Qatar, the current participation in the "Safe Roads" operation in Rome and the structures currently in operational readiness within the Joint Rapid Response Force are just some of the testimonies of the work of the 4th tank regiment.

Today as yesterday, the tankers of the 4th tank, inspired and guided by the example of their predecessors, operate with the same enthusiasm, passion and dedication for the fulfillment of their duty, according to the motto of the "Travolgo" regiment. The ceremony was attended by Labaro and a representative of the ANCI of Rome and a large representation of officers, non-commissioned officers and graduates who have played in the ranks of the unit in the past.
