COMFORDOT: General Veltri replaces General La Valle

The army commander for the specialization, Army Corps General Walter La Valle, sold the command yesterday, in the "Rossetti" barracks in Rome, to the general of division Alessandro Veltri and leaves the service active after more than four decades of life military.

Led by General La Valle, the specialization command coordinated and optimized, through specialization schools, all the activities related to the different levels of specialized training of all the personnel of the armed force, officers, non-commissioned officers and troop volunteers.

At the ceremony, held in the main hall of the transport and materials school in the presence of the commander for training, specialization and doctrine, general of army corps Vincenzo Lops, attended the general director for military personnel, numerous colleagues of the 154 ° course academy, including the secretary general of defense and national director of armaments and the operational commander of interforce summit, as well as commanders and representatives of officers, non-commissioned officers and military troops of schools and dependent departments.

General Veltri, who took over the position, carried out many national, international, command and staff positions during his career, including those of head office and deputy head of the general affairs department of the Army General Staff, head of senior state of the command of the supports of the terrestrial operational forces and of the command for training, specialization and doctrine, of defense officer at the Italian embassy in Israel, of commander of the 5 ° MLRS "Superga" rocket launcher regiment, and of commander of the "Sassari" brigade, with whom he operated in Afghanistan, as commander of the western region in the NATO ISAF (International Security Assistant Force) mission.
