“Care Under Fire” for the 2nd Alpini

The 2nd Alpine Regiment of the “Taurinense” Alpine Brigade conducted the first of a cycle of training activities aimed at increasing the knowledge of basic riflemen on rescue techniques for units under enemy fire (CUF, Care Under Fire).

The activity, carried out under the supervision of Military rescuers qualified, saw the participants first engaged in a theoretical phase inside the “I. VIAN ”and subsequently in a practical phase conducted at the training area of ​​Fontanelle di Boves (CN).

The training allowed the “Doi” Alpine troops to acquire fundamental techniques to be able to correctly use the SELF - AID with the IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) and Tourniquet material, supplied to the individual rifleman. The conduct of this type of activity allows Alpine troops to acquire the skills to rescue wounded personnel in a hostile environment.

The Alpine troops, together with the other components of the Army, are trained on first aid procedures and techniques which, on some occasions, can prove to be fundamental to save lives, especially during operations abroad in which military units could be subjected of opponent fire. The use of highly specialized figures in first aid maneuvers highlights the centrality and value of the soldier's life. Furthermore, the development of these skills and abilities makes the Italian Army a complete reality, able to use its knowledge also in favor of the community in emergency situations.

All activities were carried out in full compliance with the rules relating to the containment of the epidemiological emergency from COVID - 19.
