Il Sports Activities Department of Army Parachuting (RAS) earned six titles in the AI classics Italian Absolute Championships of Sport Parachuting, held in Fano in the first week of May.
Sergeant Fabrizio Mangia obtained the title of Italian Champion individual in the discipline "landing precision" and "free fall style" and, consequently, in the "individual combined". As many titles, in the women's field, was achieved by the corporal chosen by Sonia Vitale.
Sergeant Massimo Agnellini obtained the silver medal in the "free fall style" discipline and second place in the "combined" on equal merit with sergeant Fabio Filippini. The first corporal Samanta Vallarino obtained the silver medal in "landing precision", in front of the corporal Leonora Gambassi. In the “free fall style”, the two soldiers exchanged places, thus determining a totally female podium of the Army also for the combined.
In the "precision team landing" competition, the RAS got the second place with the team made up of sergeant Mangia, sergeant Filippini, sergeant Agnellini, corporal chosen Vitale and the first corporal Garozzo.
The next competitive appointment for the Army Athletes, who train in Pisa at the Parachuting Training Center of the “Folgore” brigade, will be the “Dolomiti Cup” to be held at the end of the month in the city of Belluno.
