Today, at the "Predieri" barracks in Florence, in the presence of the commander of the Northern Operational Forces, general of the army corps Salvatore Camporeale, and of the highest local authorities, the alternation ceremony for the command of the "Vittorio Veneto" division , between Brigadier General Sergio Cardea, the transferor, and Major General Michele Risi, who succeeds him. The gen. b. Cardea, who ensured continuity of command pending the assumption of the post by gen. d. Risi, in his speech, thanked the staff of the division for having supported him, underlining the pride of having been, albeit for a short time, at the helm of the great unit.
General Risi, in his presentation speech, said he was honored with the privilege of assuming command of the prestigious "Vittorio Veneto", engaged in a delicate process of reconfiguration in a multinational key and the acquisition of skills aimed at satisfying the three "core tasks ”Of the Atlantic Alliance, namely: collective defense and deterrence, crisis prevention and management, cooperative security. It is a particularly intense path, characterized by the succession of training moments and training activities that will allow the staff of the Multinational Division South (MND-S) to increase their professional background and refine the ability to operate within the NATO Force Structure.
The gen. ca Camporeale, in his address, highlighted the commitment of all the men and women of the division command, expressing deep appreciation for the results achieved. Finally, addressing the two commanders, he thanked gen. b. Cardea for the quality of the work carried out and wished for gen. d. I laughed the best fortunes for the new and delicate assignment.
