As part of the training activities of the NATO multinational battlegroup deployed in Bulgaria, specialized units of the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) component carried out training sessions aimed at maintaining and improving operational capabilities in a contaminated environment.
The activity, conducted in the training area of Chubra (Bulgaria), was aimed at increasing integration and coordination between units of different nationalities, including Italian and Montenegrin personnel operating within the battle group and the Bulgarian units.
In particular, the exercise was characterized by the sharing of techniques and procedures relating to the instruments and equipment supplied, with particular attention to the decontamination phase following intervention in a "dirty" area.
Joint activities such as the one described contribute to the development of integration between the multinational components of the battle group, thus making all structures fully capable of interoperating in diversified and increasingly complex contexts such as those that characterize current scenarios.
The purpose of the various training activities that the MNBG BGR units frequently conduct is to constantly maintain a high level of standardization and integration achieved so far in the use of NATO procedures and supplied equipment, in close coordination also with the Defense Forces Bulgarians.
The training activity highlighted how this approach guarantees the Alliance the availability of an effective military instrument, ready to intervene promptly in case of need, in complete coordination with the Armed Forces of the host nation.
