The reclamation and road restoration operations in the training area of Monte Castello di Quarzina have been completed. The activities, conducted for over a month at an altitude between 1100 and 1800 meters by the sappers of the Alpine Brigade Taurinense effective at the 32nd Engineer Regiment, they made it possible to collect and recover inert post-war residues from the firing range area. The interventions, carried out thanks to the earth-moving machines supplied to the engineers, made it possible to restore the dirt access routes to the area, to limit the transit of military vehicles from the main towns in the area.

More than 30 men and women are employed in the business. The use of latest generation research equipment has made it possible to find, with high precision, metal fragments of the munitions at a depth of several meters in an area of more than 14 square metres, and the engineering machines, such as excavators and loaders, were used to level over 5000 linear meters of dirt road at high altitude.
