Change to the Cavalry School

It took place yesterday, at the "Zappalà" barracks in Lecce, where the Cavalry School Command, in the presence of the commander of COMFORDOT, army general Salvatore Camporeale, the ceremony of rotation between the transferring commander, brigadier general Angelo Minelli and the substitute general of brigade Claudio Dei who, before the change, wanted to pay tribute to the Cavalry fallen with the deposition of a laurel wreath at the Sacellum of the Institute.

In the presence of the Banner of the Cavalry Weapon, decorated with a Knight's Cross of the Military Order of Italy and a Gold Medal for Military Valor, after almost three years at the helm of the prestigious Institute, in a context characterized by extreme sobriety in accordance with the provisions in force, the gen. b. Minelli has ceded the command to hold a new important position at the Army Training, Specialization and Doctrine Command in Rome.

In his parting speech, addressing the staff, he said "... Loyalty, Modesty and Enthusiasm! These are the three virtues on which I have asked you to concentrate from the first days of my arrival here at the School, to undertake all together and without delay a fruitful professional career, in all areas and in all the functional areas that make up our Institute. Today, I can say with extreme serenity and with a touch of satisfaction that all of you have actually taken these reflections into consideration and made them your own, since there have been so many activities undertaken and completed, open and realized projects, accepted and won challenges! Everything has been achieved by working with Loyalty, Modesty and Enthusiasm! ".

After the "recognition formula" and a brief intervention by the new commander, the Army Corps General Salvatore Camporeale, thanked General Minelli, highlighting how the School under his command has maintained very high standards, together with men and women. of the Institute for their high professionalism.

General Dei, who attended the 166th course of the Military Academy of Modena, comes from Sicily Army Military Command where he served as deputy commander. Among his previous experiences of command at national level there are those of commander of the 31st battalion and the 131st tank regiment. There are also numerous international experiences, among the most recent, those of commander of the Provincial Reconstruction Team of Herat and head of the division's planning office stability ISAF in Afghanistan, defense officer in Ukraine and commander of the Bilateral Mission in Niger (Misin).
