The ceremony marking the change of command of the Army took place at the barracks named after the Gold Medal for Military Valor of Lieutenant Dante Chelotti. Army Aviation Training Center (CAAE), between the transferor, Brigadier General Giovanni Quartuccio, and the incoming one, Colonel Fabio Bianchi. The event, chaired by the commander of AVES, Division General Salvatore Annigliato, was attended by local military, civil and religious authorities and representatives of the National AVES Association and the Combatant and Armed Forces Associations.
In his farewell speech, the outgoing commander emphasized the professional contribution consistently ensured by all the personnel of the department who, thanks to the high level of competence and extraordinary commitment in the field of specialized training, allowed the school to train over 4000 members of the Armed Forces during the annual mandate. In particular, in addition to conducting basic training activities for new flight crews and support personnel of the specialty, the CAAE ensured the advanced training of pilots and technicians of the Austrian Army on the new UH-169 helicopter. The personnel of the Center also participated this year in the Forest fire prevention campaign, still ongoing, collaborating with civil protection to safeguard human life and environmental heritage.
The AVES commander thanked General Quartuccio for the excellent work done, expressing to Colonel Bianchi, 34th commander of the CAAE, his best wishes for the new challenges that await the training center, flight school of the specialty and "mother house" of all the blue berets.
The ceremony concluded with the traditional handover of the Institute Flag.
