The training of the aviation company of the "Folgore" Paratroopers Brigade of the Army continues, as part of the specialty training activities arranged by the Northern Operation Force Command, aimed at making the dependent units achieve and maintain the maximum operational capacity to be readily usable in operating environments, even at high intensity.
The refueling, understood as the set of activities, exploiting the third dimension, to make the material resources available to the forces in the times, places and quantities suitable for ensuring the capabilities necessary for the conduct of operations, is essential for the operations of it broke up and assumes a fundamental importance in the field of land logistics and joint forces, in any scenario in which it operates in a poorly guaranteed area security framework. Furthermore, aviation can be the only viable route in favor of areas and populations affected by natural disasters.
In recent days, the "Folgore" aviation company, in cooperation with the 46 ^ air brigade of Pisa, carried out a material launching activity using the Joint Precision Airdrop System (JPADS). The JPADS system allows you to launch a load of materials at altitudes between 5.000 and 24.500 ft of navigation to reach the landing areas, up to a distance of 25 kilometers from the launch point, with an accuracy of less than 150 meters of error. from the desired point of impact, using an autonomous GPS guidance system and an airfoil parachute of approximately 1.020 ft².
After the first tests and the first air raids started in 2010, the JPADS system was used in Afghanistan to supply, by air, the bases located in more advanced and isolated sites.
The air supply company, part of the "Folgore" paratroopers brigade, is able to provide support for the conditioning of materials and vehicles in special containers and / or on specific platforms, to be subsequently air-launched by a fixed and / or rotary wing carrier. . The Army aircrafts are a fundamental pawn of the Defense capabilities, capable of expressing technical support of high operational value between the forces.
