Yesterday, in the presence of the commander of the Army Aviation Support Brigade, Brigadier General Giuseppe Benvenuto, the alternation ceremony for the command of the 2nd Aviation Support Regiment of the Army "Orione" between Colonel Vincenzo Recano, commander transferring and, Colonel Enrico Beschi, taking over.
The ceremony, organized inside the “Fausto Pesci” Military Airport, base of the regiment, took place in full compliance with the rules for the containment of COVID-19.
The ceremony opened with the laying of a wreath to the fallen by the commander and the president of the local section of theNational Aviation Association of the Army. Subsequently, the squadrons deployed in arms paid the honors to the War Flag, which arrived in flight aboard an AB 205 helicopter.
Deeply felt the thanks expressed, in the farewell speech, by Colonel Vincenzo Recano to the men and women of the regiment for the professionalism and self-denial shown in all circumstances during the two years of his command.
Brigadier General Giuseppe Benvenuto addressed Colonel Recano with words of esteem and appreciation for the work done and wished the incoming commander to achieve further successes in the challenging context in continuous development and evolution.
With the passage of the Regiment's War Flag, therefore, the period of command of Colonel Recano ended, who will assume the prestigious position of head of the 3rd dimension equipment and materials office at the IV logistic department of the Army General Staff, in Rome.
